Giving Back Stories
Helping Army Veteran Scott Kovalik
We believe in giving back to the community that has done so much for us!
- Scott Kovalik’s sewer lines were failing.
- Living on disability, he couldn’t afford the $17,000 repair.
- His bathroom flooded, making the situation urgent.
- We stepped in and replaced his sewer lines for free.
- Now, he can live without the stress of plumbing failures!
After a period of freezing temperatures, Scott noticed something was wrong—the toilets on one side of his house started running slowly. Thinking it was a minor issue, he called a plumber to check it out. What he learned was far worse than he had expected.
His sewer lines were failing, and replacing them would cost around $17,000—a price that was simply out of reach while living on disability. As the days went by, the problem escalated. One day, Scott’s shower backed up, flooding his entire bathroom.
That’s when Amped Plumbing stepped in.
Joe Norton, owner of Amped Plumbing, heard about Scott’s situation and knew he had to help.
“When I heard his story—how he went through a stroke, and he’s a veteran—it just kind of hit my heart,” said Norton. With a son in the military himself, he felt a deep connection to Scott’s struggles.
Through Amped Plumbing’s Giving Back to Oklahoma program, the company completely replaced Scott’s sewer lines—at no cost to him.
“We try to do one or two families a month, whether it’s a hot water tank, a mainline, whatever they need,” Norton explained.
For Scott, the help came at exactly the right time.
“I feel incredibly relieved and incredibly blessed,” he shared, grateful for the support that lifted such a heavy burden off his shoulders.
At Amped Plumbing, giving back is more than just a promise—it’s a mission. Whenever we can help, we step up—because no one, especially those who’ve served our country, should have to struggle alone.
